Perking the Pansies, Jack and Liam move to Turkey is now on the shelves of three Australian libraries:
You'll also find the book at the British Library, the National Library of Scotland, the Wellington Public Library in New Zealand and the Millennium Library right here in my home city of Norwich. Not bad for a debut book by a nobody who is neither a celebrity nor a TV cook.
A perfect read in a shady spot on a hot afternoon washed down with a refreshing cup of sweet Turkish tea. One lump or two?
Perking the Pansies has received a spectacular review in Turkey's biggest selling English Language newspaper, the Hurriyet Daily News. It was written by Hugh Pope, an influential writer, journalist and thinker living in Istanbul who knows a thing or two about Turkey and the wider Middle East.
When I self-published Turkey, the Raw Guide and Turkey, Surviving the Expats, I hoped for a few sales from die-hard pansyfans. I didn't expect both eBooks to hit the Amazon UK Turkey Guides Top 40 in the company of more illustrious titles from the Rough Guide, Lonely Planet and the Marco Polo. But then, I didn't expect my debut book - Perking the Pansies, Jack and Liam move to Turkey, to be in the Turkey Guides top twenty either.
Remarkably, 15 months after Perking the Pansies, Jack and Liam move to Turkey was first published, it still keeps hitting the top spot on Amazon.co.uk. I'm chuffed!
