Jane Akatay is an experienced journalist of depth, intelligence and passion. Jane and I first met when she approached me to participate in an article she was writing about English Language bloggers in southwest Turkey for the Turkish Daily News. Jane’s article, The Tales that Wag the Blogs, cleverly inter-weaved the views of five different quality bloggers, each with their own unique perspective on expat life. _Apparently, Kindle is de rigeur these days, the latest must have. I’m getting one for Christmas. I didn’t want it but Liam insisted. I won’t be using it lounging round a cool pool. I’d be terrified of splashing it with water, smearing it with sun tan lotion or spilling my G&T over it.

_I’ve heard on the grapevine that some people who’ve pre-ordered my book from Amazon.co.uk have received an email informing them that delivery has been delayed. My publisher assures me that there’s no problem at the printing end of the process. Demand is such that Amazon are temporarily out of stock. Who’d have thought?

_ Publication of Perking the Pansies edges ever closer. After three consecutive late nights of last minute editing, the manuscript has finally gone off to the designer to produce the book for the launch on Amazon. It’s done and dusted. I can do no more. When the book’s released, it’ll join other illustrious publications on the virtual shelves of the Expat Bookshop. It’ll be in good company.
